The student will be exposed to electrical quantities, and measurement systems. Furthermore students learn about schematic and pictorial diagrams, component familiarization, wiring and soldering techniques and the use of the multimeter.
CT00122 - AC Circuits Description This is a hands-on (the student uses laboratory equipment) intermediate-level electronics course that provides an understanding of alternating current electricity. Students will learn about magnetism, and the basic electrical devices (coils, capacitors etc.). Additionally the student will learn how to use electronics test equipment, especially the oscilloscope.
CT00123 - Digital Circuits Description This is a hands-on (the student uses laboratory equipment) intermediate-level electronics course that provides an understanding of digital circuitry. Students will learn about: binary and hexadecimal numbering systems, gates, the various types of flip-flops, registers and memory circuits. Additionally the student will learn how to use electronics test equipment, especially the function generator, the logic probe, and the oscilloscope.
CT00124 - Analog Circuits Description This is a hands-on (the student uses laboratory equipment) upper-level electronics course that provides an understanding of complex analog circuitry. Students will learn about active electronic devices, especially the transistor, and the diode. Students will explore the use of amplifiers, oscillators, and pulse circuits. Additionally the student will learn how to use electronics test equipment, especially the function generator, and the oscilloscope.
